Exploring Dean Village and Circus Lane
Myself, Agni and Francesco had a very long walk on a very cold and windy Wednesday. But it’s always worth it to do it in Edinburgh, totally magical place – I can’t stress that enough!
I need to admit, I’m so bad at reading maps or even following Google maps directions when going anywhere, even in the city where I live. So bad (I know). Glad I had Agni & Francesco to explore the city with me. And – what was initially supposed to be just a portrait photoshoot with Agnieszka turned into a bit of a couple session, which was great as they are such a lovely couple. It was freezing so we made a little espresso break in the Old Town during our photoshoot.
For a photographer, Edinburgh is a perfect place. I couldn’t have imagined so many picturesque locations trapped in one beautiful city.
This time we explored Dean Village and the loveliest street in Edinburgh – Circus Lane.
Dean Village – Edinburgh peaceful oasis
Dean Village is a former village in the north part of Edinburgh, it is located near the Stockbridge neighborhood of Edinburgh. It’s a beautiful hidden place right by the Water of Leith. At one point it had 11 working mills and remained a separate village until the 19th century when it was purchased by Lord Provost of Edinburgh.
The photographs below were taken in the close proximity of The Dean Bridge.
Circus Lane – couple photoshoot in fairy tale neighbourhood
Without a doubt, Circus Lane is one the prettiest mews in Edinburgh. It’s a location chosen by lots of wedding photographers as it’s a great place to have your engagement or wedding photoshoot. What you will find in the area are old cobbled streets with old lampposts, lots of greenery and really lovely houses which create perfect village scenery. All this in just ten minutes from the centre of Edinburgh!
Circus Lane in Stockbridge is a wonderfully atmospheric place and I totally recommend it as a background for your wedding or pre-wedding session.
In short, both Dean Village and Circus Lane are two amazing places to consider if you’re looking for a beautiful spot for your photography session.
Agni & Francesco – thank you for the wonderful time!
