Ilkey Moor is my favourite photography location near Leeds in Yorkshire. I absolutely love it. I happened to visit it for the first time at sunset and the views were stunning! Great for engagement sessions, portrait photoshoots and wedding photography.
Ilkey Moor portrait photography session in Yorkshire
It’s a part of Rombalds Moor which is a moorland between Ilkey and Keighley. Also, it’s a perfect place to appreciate the scenery and panoramic views. And – a pefect location for anyone who loves to hike.
This time there was no sun at all and it was super windy, but with my great model we managed to overcome all the difficulties and take some great pictures during our portrait session. During the second part of our shoot we used blue smoke bombs as we wanted to gain a moody and dreamy look of the model. I need to admit – it was quite challenging but thanks to Kasia who is a super professional person no difficulties stopped us.
Portrait photoshoot in Leeds
The photoshoot itself was inspired by a fairytale look and the Wuthering Heights – Emily Brontë’s only novel as it’s portrayal of hidden and unbridled passions.
Although the Yorkshire Moors are located in North and not West Yorkshire in England the moors were described in detail by Emily Brontë, as Emily herself lived in Yorkshire. Wuthering Heights is a story not about love, but about the revenge. So it’s a story packed with extreme emotions.
