I think we can all say that 2020 has been a truly crazy year. The whole world turned around!
One of the thing I was missing a lot under lockdown was photographing Scottish weddings and elopement again. And Joanna and Markus’s Edinburgh elopement was the first elopement in Scotland I photographer after the lockdown eased!

I could already feel from their emails that both Joanna and Markus were interesting, warm people and we would get along really well. And I couldn’t have been more right!
From the moment we met I knew they were super laid-back clients who loved to laugh. And didn’t take themselves too seriously. So, they were truly my favourite type of photography clients.
Edinburgh and Scotland elopement are my favourite to photograph as well. Nothing I love more than photographing small, intimate ceremonies. Such circumstances always give the bride and groom the possibility to avoid stress and focus primarily on each other.

After the wedding ceremony we wandered around the Old Town for almost 2 hours. We stopped at the best locations for their wedding photographs.
Joanna and Markus always loved Scotland. They have travelled here multiple times. And that is why they chose Edinburgh as their elopement location.
I believe that this is what elopement should be all about.
Choosing a place closest to your heart. Getting married the way you want to do it. Make an adventure out of it. Like Joanna and Markus who drove all the way from Germany to Scotland to elope!
Joanna looked stunning in her long-sleeved wedding dress. I truly loved their style. Markus’s look in that brown suit was just as stylish! Plus, what a great clothing match for Scottish landscapes.

one of the reasons I’m really glad, that our elopement didn’t take place in May due to coronavirus pandemics, was to find you to be our wedding photographer. We also felt the connection instantly and it made us feel very comfortable during the shooting. Our trip to Aviemore, talking about as Germans would say “god and the world” and visiting Loch an Eilein was one of our most favourite days so far. It was a wonderful experience to share the love for Scotland and its landscapes, thank You so much for capturing these beautiful moments for us!
