Rory & Lisa – secret proposal at Edinburgh Castle
Lisa and I met in London at a clubnight – I was DJing and she was filming a promotional video for the event. We didn’t actually speak much that night, but I knew when our eyes met, I had to get to know her better! The more time I spent with her, the more I fell in love, and happily she felt the same way.
We are both very fond of Scotland, having visited individually many times, and Lisa studied at university there as well. Although we had been a couple for four years, we had never visited Scotland with each other. When the opportunity for a weekend away in Edinburgh came up, I knew it would be the perfect place for a proposal.
I knew I wanted a place that had a sense of occasion, and offered great views of the beautiful city, so I chose Edinburgh Castle, and was able to book the Minstrels Gallery in the Great Hall to propose, so while it was a place open to the public, the space offered some privacy too. The staff ushered us into the room and I proposed – and Lisa said yes!
