Engagement session in Portobello Beach

Angelika and Kamil’s wedding will take place next year – in the meantime I met them for an engagement session on Portobello Beach in Edinburgh. They are an incredibly energetic couple and still after 8 years together crazy in love with each other. Unlike most of us they quickly realised that their first love would be their last.

It was so much fun to spend time with them during their engagement session. They danced, laughed a lot and looked at one another with incredible excitement.

They have been living in Scotland for quite a while and they are really enjoying their life in Edinburgh. They actually live really close to the Portobello Beach so it was not only a beautiful place to photograph them at, but also a convenient one!

They live just two streets from the promenade, so they treated their engagement shoot like a Friday-night date: coffee in hand, shoes in the sand and the North Sea trying its best impression of a Mediterranean sunset (didn’t work out though as we got clouds!)

The couple absolutely loved their engagement photographs and although they had already booked their wedding photographer before they met me, I loved my role in telling their story and meeting such lovely people. And as Edinburgh is such an amazing city and offers so many amazing places to take pictures in, it was a great fun for all three of us. And the Scottish weather didn’t let us down, it wasn’t super windy or rainy as it usually is.

We started beside the pastel beach huts, letting them chat, laugh and forget the camera. By frame six the nerves had vanished; by frame twenty we had genuine belly laughs (courtesy of a rogue hula-hooper in the background).
