Behind the lens: My Approach to Photography
That’s what Scottish wedding photography is all about – magical moments and magical scenery!
Your Wedding Day Wingwoman!
I’m Natalia – your wingwoman reporting for duty!
When you choose me as your Scottish wedding photographer, you’re not just hiring someone to snap pictures – you’re gaining a dedicated sidekick for your big day.
Need your veil adjusted or the train of your dress fluffed? I’ve got you. If the weather turns, I’ll hold an umbrella over your head while you check your make-up, to then go ahead with those dreamy rain-kissed shots. I’m here to listen to your photo ideas, pick confetti off your hair, track down a rogue groomsman and share a laugh to calm those pre-ceremony jitters. I’ll also be your personal tour guide also keen to share interesting facts and history and famous blockbuster filming locations.
I’ll be your all-in-one assistant, confidant, and biggest cheerleader – capturing every important moment while ensuring your day runs smoothly.
Whatever it takes to make your wedding day stress-free and unforgettable, I’m all in.
Natural & candid photography style
I’m all about documenting those candid, unscripted moments that reveal the essence of your relationship. Whether it’s the way you laugh together, hold hands, or steal glances when no one’s watching, these are the moments that matter most to me.
As you might have noticed from my portfolio, no two elopements or weddings I’ve photographed look the same.
That’s because I don’t impose my vision on you – instead, I let you inspire my creativity.
I take the time to ask you about the wedding photos you’ve seen and loved, hear about your ideas for the photoshoot, and even go through your Pinterest board (send it over!).
While we won’t be recreating anyone else’s photos, it gives me insight into your vision and helps me craft something unique to you – whether that’s something timelessly romantic, like a scene straight out of Pride and Prejudice, a laid-back and fun vibe, or even something a little quirky, like a photo of you sharing a pint at an old pub with foam on your lip (or a mixture of all – because cool people rarely fit in just one box, am I right?)
Anyway, it’s always about having a ridiculous amount of fun on the day, after all.
Romantic
Picture this: the two of you standing together on a majestic hill on Isle of Skye as the sun sets behind you, its golden glow wrapping you in a soft, intimate light. It’s about capturing those moments where you’re entirely present with each other, letting the world fade away.
FUN & Silly
From dancing in the rain to getting silly with your closest friends, I capture the unfiltered joy and playful moments that make your day uniquely yours.
Candid
Imagine laughing uncontrollably as you share a pint at the bar or stealing a cheeky glance when standing in the pouring rain surrounded by misty scenery. I focus on these unscripted, spontaneous interactions that are the core of your relationship.
Emotional
Whether it’s a tear slipping down your cheek as you exchange your wedding vows or the overwhelming joy of seeing each other for the first time during the reveal – I have a ninja-like ability to capture moments unnoticed!
A Collaborative and Personalised Scottish Photography Experience
Your wedding day is one of the most important moments in your life, and I believe your photos should reflect your story, not just my vision.
That’s why I prioritise collaboration, ensuring your personality and ideas shine through in every shot. From discussing your dream locations to understanding how you envision the day unfolding, I’ll work closely with you to create a tailored photography experience in Scotland for you.
Every relationship has its unique dynamic, and my goal is to capture that authentically. Whether you’re playful, a bit shy, adventurous, or sentimental, I adapt to your energy and let your connection guide the session.
Instead of imposing my ideas, I create a space where you can be yourselves, allowing your genuine moments and emotions to shine through.
Whether it’s hiking up a hill for the perfect golden hour shot, chasing dramatic clouds over a loch, or catching the cosy intimacy of your first dance or photographing you jumping over puddles, I’m always ready to go the extra mile (literally, in hiking boots if needed!) to make your memories extraordinary.
Bonny Words – reviews from my Bonny Couples
Natalia captured our Isle of Skye wedding in a way we didn’t think was even possible. Not only is she an incredibly talented and professional photographer, but it also felt like we’ve been old friends from the first few minutes!
Our photos turned out exactly as we dreamed of, moody, captivating and emotional.
Natalia, thank you for creating lifelong memories with us.
On our elopement day, Natalia made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, encouraged us to embrace the relentless rain and showed us parts of Edinburgh we would have never visited otherwise.
She is a master behind the camera and an incredible wedding photographer – and her moody photography style perfectly compliments the (often) rainy and majestic atmosphere that accompanies a typical Scottish day.
Natalia is an absolute artist behind the lenses, her talent and passion to capture the magic in a thunderstorm left us in awe.
Her artistry to work in the ever changing Scottish weather is a testament to her love for her work.
She has a gift for encapsulating the raw beauty of Scotland’s landscapes and the warmth of human connection – she effortlessly translates emotions into visual poetry.
“We’re awkward in front of the camera” – so am I!
If you’ve ever thought “We’re so awkward in photos!” – trust me, I get it. I’m the same!
All I can usually muster is a weird face unless someone gives me specific directions.
That’s why my approach is about making you feel as comfortable as possible. I’ll guide you gently, so you’ll feel natural, relaxed, and ready to enjoy the moment. None of that look at the camera and smile or say cheese stuff.
My focus is on capturing genuine interactions rather than stiff poses, ensuring the photos truly reflect who you are as a couple.
