Edinburgh is such a perfect place for a surprise proposal.

Although the Scottish weather can be pretty wild, there are some absolutely perfect days as well. One of those was the Edinburgh secret proposal at the sunset. Jakob proposed to Virginia close to the Arthur’s Seat summit on a windy weekday evening. And it was truly magical.

How would you feel about popping the big question in such a unique setting, soaked in golden evening light?

As Edinburgh engagement photographer I love to be a part of special moments between my clients. Capturing this unique bond between people is very special.

It’s even more amazing to photograph secret proposals in such a beautiful place. Edinburgh it truly one of a kind. Full of incredible landscapes and breath-taking architecture.

Jakob had been planning to propose to his girlfriend Virginia for a while. He’s originally from Austria and had been living in London for the last 4 years. Virginia is originally from the US. They met when she was studying a semester in London in autumn 2018.

They have been in a long distance relationship since she went back to the US in December 2018. When she was studying in London she visited Edinburgh for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Jakob had never visited the Scottish capital before so I wanted to support him with planning the big moment as much as possible!

Since Virginia always wanted to see Edinburgh again, with Jakob this time, he decided that it was the perfect place for him to propose.

After taking a look at pictures of Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat he decided that it was the perfect place to propose.

Also, I couldn’t believe how wonderful the evening of Jakob’s proposal was. Golden light, incredible views at the entire city…
