Augusto & Emilja – Barcelona couple photoshoot in The Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies
Jardins de les 3 Xemeneies (Gardens of the three chimneys) are the most urban of Barcelona’s parks.
Located near Montjuïc in the Poble-sec neighbourhood, the park got its name from the 3 brick chimneys being the remains of the early 20th century power station.
Augusto and Emilja chose this place as the location of their Barcelona photoshoot, which we all wanted to be different and unique.
I asked these two awesome, covered in tattoos people some questions I was curious about and these are the answers I received from Augusto.
What is love to you?
You meet someone.
You fall in love.
You decide to travel.
What meaning do tattoos have for you?
Tattoos are a way of expressing ourselves. Beliefs, experiences, life. In our opinion a tattoo has to be be meaningful. A piece of art that communicates more by its meaning than only by its beauty.
How did you meet?
Tinder. Very romantic, huh!?
– What does love mean to you?
– Love means freedom, acceptance, wildness, bravery. Love only lasts when no walls restrict it. One word we can relate to love is wings.
What do you love about each other?
Everything. The good and the bad. We all have our paradise and inferno. It wouldn’t be love if we only liked each other’s paradise. When you love someone you gotta take the whole package. As the song says every rose has its thorn. But you like roses anyway, right? We do. Moreover we feel free together. Free to sing out loud, to play, to laugh, to do silly things… And we feel supported too.
What do we love about each other? Us.
What are your plans for the future?
We travelled around Philippines and its wonderful nature. Now we are ready to move on. So in few weeks we’ll be on the road again. Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and back to Europe. Time will tell.
I’d like to marry her, let’s hope she says yes.
What do you do for a living and what’s the best thing about being a freelancer?
We work in online customer support (that’s what we are allowed to say by the company though. Lol). The best part about being a freelancer is that you are free to be wherever you want to be. To travel around the world. To set your own time to work. And to be off of that office thing that makes you a prisoner. Our office sometimes is a blue sea, white sand beach… We prefer it to 4 walls and a suit.
What do you like about Barcelona?
Mostly everything. It’s the most beautiful city we’ve ever lived in. You can do whatever you want there. As long as you don’t bother anyone, it’s ok. And weed is legal Yo!
We kind of feel obligated to say that there are only 2 things we don’t like about Barcelona. Rent is so expensive and almost impossible to have an apartment of your own. And the city is becoming a party city, forgetting that it is one of the cultural capitals of the world.
The best part of a photographer’s job is meeting cool people such as Augusto & Emilja. They are planning to visit Scotland next year and I’m really hoping for a moody photoshoot in the Scottish highlands with them, and to be able to get a pint and talk about life as we did when we met for the first time. Or maybe – Isle of Skye?
Also, big thanks to my photographer friend Jenna Kanellakos for being with us and creating awesome memories together.
