As Scotland proposal photographer I love to help people with planning the perfect proposal moment for their other half.
When Nico told me about his plans to surprise his girlfriend Shelley with a proposal in Edinburgh, I wanted to be on board right away!
I might be biased but as Edinburgh proposal photographer I believe there is no better place to propose than the Scottish capital!
Ross Fountain marriage proposal in Scotland
During my video call with Nico, a couple of days before the proposal in Edinburgh, we discussed every detail of the proposal. We decided to plan the proposal moment for a Friday morning in August to avoid crowds around the Ross Fountain.
I totally recommend choosing morning instead of any other time of the day for Edinburgh proposal.
This will make the moment more intimate as there might not be any people around us. Additionally, the background in the photographs will be clearer with fewer distractions – if we’re lucky there might not be many people in the background.
Another reason to propose in the morning is that the light is beautiful. I always advise couples to have their photos taken either early in the morning or later in the day, during the golden hour.
When Nico got on one knee to propose to Shelley the light was wonderful. It was a beautiful summer morning.
