Engagement photoshoot at a pumpkin farm

Hailey and Matt are from Seattle and recently moved to Edinburgh to study. Whilst Hailey is working on her Master’s and her fiancé is working on his PhD. They love Edinburgh and that’s why decided to have their engagement photos taken here.

As they both love the outdoors plus Hailey is a total bookworm (as am I) I suggested two locations for their engagement photoshoot, first of them being Craigie’s Farm and the second being Armchair Books, an atmospheric little bookshop in Edinburgh city centre.

The weather was a little bit crazy, but strong winds and rain didn’t stop us from taking photographs. Hailey and Matt rocked it, they were super comfortable in front of the camera and didn’t mind the weather at all. After we took some photos on the farm (including pumpkin fields, corn and strawberry orchard) we took a little hot chocolate / tea break at the café to warm up and then got an Uber and headed to the city centre.

To be honest, we didn’t even need sunshine to be able to enjoy our Sunday afternoon on the farm. Especially since I prefer a moody look in my photos I was actually glad that there was no harsh light but a little bit of rain and wind.

And – can you believe we still managed to find some strawberries in the orchard? In October?

I totally recommend Craigie’s Farm and Farm shop as a location to visit, because it’s a great place where you can eat, do some shopping (amazing and fresh local produce), pick and buy fruit and most of all enjoy the countryside. Also, it’s just a few minutes outside of Edinburgh and accessible by public transport. Halloween is just around the corner so if you want to choose your perfect pumpkin and a pumpkin carving kit there’s no better place to go than Craigie’s Farm, especially now when you have the possibility to appreciate its autumnal charm.

To sum up, farm was an amazing place for a little weekend visit plus Hailey and Matt were a great couple to work with. I was so glad to receive incredible feedback from them after sending them their engagement photoshoot gallery:
