From the first minutes of my video call with Hannah and John I knew we would get along very well.
They are both incredibly kind people who don’t take themselves too seriously and they loved the idea of a relaxed Edinburgh elopement. And since they always felt an extraordinary bond with the Scottish capital, they decided that eloping in the Scottish capital would be the best and most meaningful place for them to tie the knot.
Royal Mile spring Edinburgh elopement
Hannah and John eloped in Edinburgh at the end of April. It was a rainy and a bit cold but a beautiful day.
Their wedding ceremony took place at Edinburgh City Chambers. They were surrounded by closest friend and their super cute dog – Pippa, who, let me add, was also wearing wedding attire! It was a short, but heartfelt and emotional ceremony.
I cannot stress it enough – if you’d like to have your dog as a part of your wedding day, you definitely should! Speaking as a total dog person, pups are always the most adorable wedding guests. And I truly love photographing them.
Furthermore, I couldn’t not say more about their wedding entrance! It was truly an awesome entrance. They arrived at their wedding venue on a trishaw bike with Lissa from Edinburgh Joy Rides. With their cute pup Pippa, of course!

Last weekend of April was when the cherry blossom season in Edinburgh was coming to an end. Thankfully, the Meadows still looked beautiful! I convinced Hannah and John to stroll down to the alley of cherry blossom trees from the Vennel Steps for some wedding photos. I was over the moon they were both up for that.
Cherry blossom season in Edinburgh is the most beautiful time. Unfortunately it doesn’t last very long – it’s usually just two weeks when the trees are in bloom and then it’s over. So it was great to make the most of it.
Cherry blossoms attract so many photographers due to their beauty. But since it was a relatively chilly and rainy day, there were hardly any people around when I was taking wedding photos for Hannah and John.
