When James and Amy contacted me during their search of Scotland wedding photographer for their elopement I couldn’t have been more excited. Outdoor weddings in Scotland are my absolute favourite. I loved how adventurous they were that they decided to have a woodland wedding in Scotland in the middle of November!
Autumn wedding at Harvest Moon in Scotland
Harvest Moon in Dunbar is definitely the most beautiful and atmospheric wedding venues in Scotland I have seen so far. The opportunities for nature-loving engaged couples are endless. You have the incredible Seacliff Beach just around the corner, there are fairy-tale treehouses around the site. You can also have a bonfire the night before your Scottish wedding. What is more, you can have your ceremony in the forest or on the beach and then dinner, party and ceilidh in a big marquee.
It’s great that forest provides a great shelter in case it rains! Which was so great because it started to rain during James’s and Amy’s woodland ceremony. Fortunately we didn’t get soaked.
The day was beautiful, especially since we were counting on a bit of dreamy moodiness during the Scottish elopement. Autumn is such a perfect time to get married, especially here in Scotland. During the wedding photoshoot we had a selection of backgrounds and colours to choose from, being surrounded by forest, beach and tree houses. Green was mixing with the gorgeous yellow and orange and the sky was super dramatic and cloudy. From my photography perspective this combination means absolute perfection.
Scotland woodland wedding venue
This adventurous elopement in the Scotland had everything I love about adventure elopements and small weddings: breathtaking woodland scenery, unique style and stylish details.
After the ceremony and the wedding photoshoot everyone walked to the beautifully decorated marquee. Although it was freezing outside, it was incredibly warm and cosy inside the marquee. And even warmer after everyone started dancing ceilidh!
Here are some more photographs from the wedding reception in the marquee and the most amazing and energetic ceilidh dance! If you ask me, the best thing that you could do at your wedding is to get a ceilidh band enjoy your special day with lots of fun with the people you love on the dance floor. Ceilidh is an incredible tradition!
Outdoor forest wedding in Dunbar
Harvest Moon weddings in Dunbar is one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in Scotland you can ever visit. Since I photographed James’s and Amy’s wedding there in the middle of November it immediately became my number one wedding venue and I will keep recommending it to all my couples planning an outdoor Scottish wedding or an elopement in Scotland.
It’s a secluded wedding venue in the middle of the forest and very close to the beach. That’s the dream!
