I was delighted when I received an email from Taylor and Alan. Hearing about the details of their plans to get married outdoors in the scenic Scotland got me excited right away. Specifically, they planned to have a small outdoor wedding in the highlands of Scotland.
As Scotland elopement photographer I love photographing small weddings, also called micro-weddings. It’s because outdoor Scottish weddings are particularly wild and adventurous!
Accommodation: Kingshouse Hotel
Officiant: Ashton Easter
Flowers: Wild Gorse
Although Taylor and Alan’s micro-wedding took place in spring – in April, the weather was truly autumnal. Unquestionably, the day was unforgettable. Cold and windy but also misty and atmospheric. Doesn’t it sound like something you’d never forget?
The main part of their outdoor micro-wedding in the highlands was a heartfelt ceremony conducted by Ashton Easter.
With the majestic views over the Three Sisters, Taylor and Alan exchanged vows and rings and took part in a celtic ritual of handfasting. All elements of this tiny outdoor wedding were perfect. Starting from the gorgeous views from the windows of their hotel, to meeting the Glencoe stag – and getting a photo with one!
Finally, I need to mention that we even got to say hi to a stag hanging out outside their hotel, right after their first look!
It was a true privilege being a part of Taylor and Alan’s amazing adventure in Glencoe.
