One of the things I loved most about Ben and Natasha’s Edinburgh photo shoot is how we combined Natasha’s portrait photos with the couple session. I like to make sure that once a couple books me as their Scotland photographer I always give my clients the option to have some individual portraits taken.

I mentioned to Natasha that we could dedicate some of our photo session time to taking portraits of her. And she was over the moon about my idea!

She was incredibly natural in front of the camera. I told her about her potential as a model as I loved how easy it was to photograph her! So I was really in awe of how beautiful her portraits have turned out. What is more, I need to mention that the light was soft and gorgeous that evening as well. Both Natasha’s talent and the light conditions made my job really pleasant and easy.

Portrait photography is always about creating unique images that will take you back to wonderful time in the past. It’s about waking up memories. I love how the pre-wedding experiences are always such a good introduction for the clients to be fully prepared for their big day with their wedding photographer. It’s like an introduction to posing and first step when it comes to feeling comfortable and natural in front of a professional photographer’s camera.

Around the time when I photographed Natasha and Ben in Edinburgh, they were in the middle of planning their dream wedding in Russia. Ben being originally from Aberdeen in Scotland and Natasha from Moscow, they decided to get married in Natasha’s country. That’s because they both work and live there.

I was incredible excited to hear about the plans for their wedding in Moscow and how much they were both enjoying planning and preparations for the big day.

And I was so glad that Natasha loved the portraits I took of her during our Sunday wander around Edinburgh. They travelled all the way from Aberdeen to Edinburgh for me to be able to capture these memories for them before their wedding day!
