Ryan contacted me a couple days before he planned to propose. He shared his proposal plans with me – he wanted to propose on top of Edinburgh’s Calton Hill at sunrise.
It was a freezing cold, November windy morning. And the city looked absolutely beautiful!

There are so many great things about early morning proposals.
First of all, the blue hour in the morning guarantees beautiful light which is essential for great proposal photos. The sky looks stunning and the views are unforgettable.
Secondly, with Edinburgh being extremely popular among tourists, the prettiest photography locations in Edinburgh tend to be super busy at all times of the day. Which is why it is worth it to plan a photoshoot early in the morning when popular spots are not as busy as at other times of the day.
To sum up, proposing on Calton Hill in Edinburgh is a great idea. You will see the entire Edinburgh skyline in your engagement photos if you choose to propose here!
Why not propose twice?
If you particularly like the look of a certain view, you can propose again during the same photoshoot!
Because why not? I am always happy to take a few more photos of the staged proposal right after the real one.
