I had the most amazing time with Christina who found me on Instagram and sent me a message about a portrait session she was interested in. We were so lucky and took advantage of glorious weather in Edinburgh. Warmth and sunsets like this one don’t happen very often in Scotland!

We arranged our session at the sunset at the amazing Arthur’s Seat, an ancient volcano. After our hike to the top we took a break to look at the city bathed in warm sunlight. What was surprising is that there were only a few people there, so the place was calm, sunny and quiet.

The views were gorgeous, just take a look.

American girl – the story of my gorgeous model

Christina came to Scotland to study Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. She is originally from Washington, D.C. She fell in love with Scotland but also recently started to feel homesick and is happy to be coming back to the US over the summer to see her family and friends.

This ginger beauty turned out to be the most amazing model. We were both incredibly satisfied with the results of our photo shoot. After spending more than 2 hours at Arthur’s Seat, chasing the softest and most magical light we had really great conversations about life. But also social media, politics and best travel destinations around the world. That was an absolutely awesome Monday evening (Mondays don’t always have to be terrible and painful, apparently!).

Now I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed both for Christina on her future adventures, hoping that we’ll get to meet again soon. And surely also for weather like this to happen more often here in Scotland so I can explore more beautiful photo opportunities in the sunshine with my photography clients.

Spring is without a doubt my favourite time of the year. That’s because it’s inspiring, coloured by wildflowers and lots of juicy greenery. Sometimes wildflower blooms can be so dazzling that it’s hard to believe they are real. And, after a veeery long winter, outdoor evenings can become enjoyable again.
