Why I love Edinburgh | Edinburgh photography

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities in the world. And as there are so many reasons to love Edinburgh mine are mostly related to its scenery – as a photographer I always love to have so many photo opportunities.

Why I love Edinburgh

There is an abundance of reasons why I love this city and I’ll explore it in this article. So read on!

Beauty of the Royal Botanic Garden

Without a doubt my favourite place in Edinburgh. And an amazing venue for Edinburgh wedding photographer. If you’re planning to get married there, I’d love love love to be your photographer.

Beautiful Victorian glasshouses, waterfalls, plants from all over the world, 70 acres of incredible scenery. Edinburgh’s peaceful oasis. Every time I visit I always seem to discover something new here. Also, check out the RBGE gift shop with some really cool stuff. I bought my best friend a silver thistle necklace here, she loved it.

So sit on the grass and relax (unless it’s raining of course!).

Edinburgh Castle – iconic Scottish tourist location

Edinburgh Castle is a world famous icon of Scotland and the most famous of Scottish castles. Interesting facts: many people believe Edinburgh Castle is haunted, it housed many prisoners of war and it’s a place where ‘witches’ were burnt at the stake.
Its location offers incredible views. One of the best spots for Edinburgh photography. I only wish there were less tourists there every time I want to visit :)

Another amazing photography location for someone planning their wedding in Edinburgh.

Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh – amazing location for a photoshoot

An ancient volcano in the heart of the city – for all those who love nature and hiking. No one knows where Arthur’s Seat got its name but legend has it there is a connection between Edinburgh and King Arthur and it may have been the location of legendary Camelot.
Aren’t the views breathtaking? Arthur’s Seat is my second favourite place in Edinburgh.
It offers great views at all parts of Edinburgh and is a great spot for beauty seeking portrait and wedding photographers. And a perfect place to just sit down and chill out. See one of my Arthur’s Seat photoshoots here.

Again, it’s a place where wedding photoshoots will look like pure magic.

Looking for somewhere to be photographed? Arthur’s Seat won’t let you down, I promise!

Scottish food – discover the best local staples and haggis in Edinburgh

Full Scottish breakfast. Half a tomato, baked beans, fried egg, a rasher of bacon, black pudding, a link sausage and potato bread. Best ever. And a cup of coffee.

Haggis – not sure about you, but I am a big big fan of haggis. And the best haggis I have ever had in my life was the one in Arcade Haggis & Whisky House in Edinburgh. Also, crunchy nachos served with guacamole, sour cream and spicy salsa are also served with haggis (aaaaamazing).

Edinburgh is one of a kind and that’s why I love it

Best haggis ever, magical Royal Botanic Garden, amazing views from the top of the Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle. Endless photo opportunities. History and modernity. Great restaurants. Royal Mile, always full of life. People from all over the world.
