Being able to look at the sunset from Arthur’s Seat, the peak of an extinct volcano, is one of the best feelings in the world. And totally worth the slightly exhausting hike! Speaking from a perspective of a photographer who loves beautiful views but at the same time hates climbing.

Kate and Fransisco were a dream to work with. Not everyone is willing to climb all the way up for fantastic views and photographs. I was really happy they were ready to do it. And the view from the peak did not disappoint. Plus, I got to hear all about their Amsterdam wedding plans!
I was really glad they they chose Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat for their engagement photo shoot. It’s definitely one of the most picturesque places in the Scottish capital. So if you’re planning a photo session in Edinburgh but have no time for a trip to the Scottish highlands this place is the one I would recommend more than any other location.
Arthur’s Seat is a place that made me fall in love with Scottish landscapes. I can assure you that’s an everlasting love, once you’ve visited you’ll keep coming back for more. I can’t even remember how many elopements, weddings, secret proposals and engagements I have photographed in this place so far. But it’s surely been many.
One of my other favourite Scotland photo shoots I have done here were without a doubt my first portrait session with Christina, super cute family photography session with Hewan and her girls, my super fun family shoot with Alisa and her boys, Jordan’s morning secret proposal and the rainy Edinburgh adventure I photographed for Heather and Erin.
I’m sure there are more elopements, weddings and engagements still to come and be photographed in Holyrood Park!
